“Emile Zola. Wie man lebt, so stirbt man. Fünf Beispiele”

These adult book illustrations were created for the Faber & Faber book competition as a part of my Illustrtation Master 3rd semester project. I have illustrated Emile Zola's novel with floral symbolism. The five short stories are separated by double pages on which an individual gravestone and selected flowers for the funeral are depicted for each of the protagonists.

I created the illustrations in ballpoint pen and colored them in Photoshop.
